Missing ingredients is one of the Pembroke Hospital investigations. Jonathan can receive this task from Dr Thoreau Strickland. Jonathan can find out in the dialogue with Strickland that he's waiting for an order from the pharmacy in The Docks. There, Jonathan only can find the pharmacy vandalised and the owner gone. After this, he can return to Strickland and tell him what happened.
- Jonathan considers the Opium way too risky and offers to help to improve the formula:
- 1x Sodium Hypochlorite
- 1x Potassium Permanganate
- 6x Ferrous Tartrate
Jonathan can either find these ingredients or buy them from Rakesh Chadana. After collecting all the ingredients, Jonathan should go to his office and use his workbench to prepare a Placebo.
- He either can give it to Dr Thoreau Strickland or Dr Waverley Ackroyd. In both versions Jonathan will receive a key and is asked to place the placebo in a cabinet.

- Tell what happened to Thoreau Strickland
- Talk to Dr Thoreau Strickland with "Your drug provider is gone." -- EXP +40
- Gather the ingredients and formulate the medication
- Just go back to your room and get Placebo in the table (not the workbench).
- Bring 1 unit of sodium hypochlorite to your medical desk
- Bring 1 unit of potassium permanaganate to your medical desk.
- Bring 6 unit of ferrous tartrate to your medical desk.
- Choose what to do about Thoreau Strickland
- Bring the medication to Thoreau
- Talk with Dr Thoreau Strickland "I have improved your mixture"
- Get Key of Doctors' Office
- Report Thoreau to Dr.Ackroyd
- Put the medication in the Doctors' office
- Now you can go in the Doctors' office, just next to your hideout.
- Put the Placebo into cabinet. -- EXP +100
